"You ought to consider that if the Bible was truly written by inspiration of God, it would not be so full of errors and contradictions. I believe that the Bible is the greatest con the world has ever seen. It has prevented people from forming a personal relationship with God ever since it was put together in the first three centuries AD by Church Leaders, containing writings that suited their viewpoints at that time in history. Every Christian learns all there is to know about God and Jesus from reading limited writings which are then filtered through their Church leaders who avoid all passages which would condemn them for their unchristian behaviour.
The Bible condemns homosexuality: Science and medical research has lead us to know that homosexuals are created, rather than a conscious choice made by people. This knowledge was not available to people in Biblical times.
The Bible is absolutely clear that women stay silent in Church, that we should arrange to stone people who wear two types of cloth at the same time, regularly wash the feet of others as Jesus did, personally heal people, raise them from the dead, meet together with other believers daily for prayer and share ALL your possessions with those around you? All these are fundamental behaviors of a Christian and I haven't met one yet!!
So Christians, take the log out of your own eye before you keep carrying on about the speck you think you see in other people's. Your quoting out of context of Biblical verses is unimpressive and hopefully your God will somehow manage to get through to you despite your insistence on fanatically following a series of writings by man, put together by man, rewritten and translated and altered by other men and now picked to pieces by people like you to appear moral and righteous whilst condemning others.
The GLBT people I have encountered on this page show much more of a Christian attitude than you do. They express love, support and encouragement for one another. Stick around, you just might learn something from them."

My definition of the bible.
Just because the bible says something does not make it true.
Just because god may or may not have done something, does not make it true
Just because certain people say the bible says something which may affect our lives, does not mean we live in sin.
Just because god condemns a few things which may or may not be bad, does not make morals appear
Just because people say stuff about things which could or could not happen in the near future, does not make god exist.
Just because religious people do things to help others, does not mean everybody else on the face of this planet is immoral.
Just because 1 book influences a whole nation, does not mean everybody else has to follow.
Just because someone can quote from the bible, does not make them a saint.
People can find there own purpose, beliefs and love, you dont need a book to help you do that, the bible is only god for 1 individuals hope and beliefs not to be used to tell a whole nation what it expects.
I still can not get my head round the fact that people would follow a book which has no evidence what so ever and choose to live by it, preach from it and even make others lives miserable because of it!
It does nothing but anger and fear people, for what? Death?

Religious Obsession
In the past month, I have been looking, listening and researching certain parts of peoples religious views,
not every religious person, but mainly the famous religious people, like Margaret Court, Anne Wildacombe, Stephen Green
Rick Santorum and so forth. They all have 1 thing in common, 1 thing which they seem to obsess and bring up constantly,
and it's homosexuals, you never hear them bring up anything else from the bible, like, the sun goes round the earth. You don't hear that one quoted very often do you?
You don't see groups of wild eyed closet astronomers attacking astronomers who state that the earth goes round the sun. But when someone stands up
in defense for there bigoted and ignorant views, they act like the victim, as if we are attacking them, when they are the one with
over obsessed and highly irrational view, its like our lives effect there's, like they wake up every morning and we're there.
They need educating, and not from the bible, but from reality. What is there obsession? I really don't understand, someone please
tell me why they are so obsessed with homosexuals? This is one of the reasons why, I do not like relgious peoples views!
Its one of many reasons why I'm an atheist.

Homophobia is a word which people seem to chuck around a lot in the LGBT Community, but what does it actually mean?!
In my understanding of what I've heard and seen, homophobia isn't necessarily hate toward's a certain person's sexual preference, but more, scared and confused, maybe they have had some sort of homosexual feelings in the past and that has scared them.
Someone who hates homosexuals is just pure HATE, not homophobic. Although most people in the LGBT Community do get scared of the word homophobic, it's not as bad as many people make out, if you can just be YOU around someone who has homophobia, that could get rid of there fear and change people.
Unlike hate, or a specific hate towards someone (Homosexuals in our case). All we can do is prove there ignorance. Hate is usually driven by something more sinister, maybe something from there past, maybe how they were brought up, or maybe just pure stupidity. But In my opinion, I don't think there is any air way for hate, I don't see the point, maybe it's like there release valve, they hate towards Gay people to release anger which has built up!? Maybe?
Also, why is there not a word for phobia against heterosexuals? Not that I want that to exist, I just find it really strange there's a phobia word for homosexuals, but not heterosexuals?
People shouldn't just jump to conclusions when you don't even know Gay people. Its like, ohh there gay, that means there feminine, and girl'y, and they will hit on me because I'm a man! (Grow up).

"As a society we are losing touch with fundamental Christian values, as our leaders lean towards an agenda of political correctness to keep the minorities happy."
First of all, being a Christian is a choice, you make it sound as if its compulsory, that EVERYONE has to be a Christian. No, WE choose our way of life. Whilst you choose to be narrow-minded. Our leaders are leaning towards an Equalised society. Fairness and respect.
"We have taken the easy way out. Minorities are now making it harder for the majority. They are increasingly taking everything that is good in society and pushing it to the side."
'Minorities' are making things how they should be. Equal. What's the point in treating 1 half of the country completely different to the other half? What's the point in treating 1 child to a treat and not the other? What's the point in treating 1 sick person, but not the other? Exactly!
"Looking back, you can see that there has been a steep decline, especially when it comes to the issue of sexuality. There is so much scripture within the Bible that points to what we see happening now. We are losing that sense of discipline."
Sexuality isn't a problem. I've done so much research on it, to try and find something bad about it, there is nothing. People 'choose' to be against it, because they don't understand the facts.
This is the 21st Century, discipline doesn't involve wood and stones, we rely on truth, evidence, and again. Equality. What's the point in preaching about something which is about...15000 years old? We're intelligent enough to make our own decisions now.
"Let me be clear. I believe that a person's sexuality is a choice. In the Bible it said that homosexuality is among sins that are works of the flesh. It is not something you are born with."
Right, OK. Let me be clear. Are you gay? bi? Trans-gender? no? Then YOUR opinion is INVALID. You cannot say that it's a choice if you've never had these feelings. Why on earth would someone 'Choose' to be gay if they knew they would get up everyday and get abused, harassed and attacked? Hmmm? again, you have no full proof evidence to back up what your saying. I have me as evidence, I have the WHOLE LGBT community to back up our proof!
"My concern is that we are advocating to young people that it is OK to have these feelings. But I truly believe if you are told you are gay from a young age, soon enough it will start to impact your life and you will live it. If somebody is told they are gay they often start to believe it."
It is OK! There is no point in teaching Children that it is wrong, that just causes prejudice and fear. Which would cause confrontation later in life. Bullying. Attacks. And even Suicide, so yes, teaching young children that having these feelings is a natural and a good thing. It is the RIGHT way. If someone got told they are gay, and believed it, they are either 1, Insecure with there sexuality or 2, Completely bone idle and will believe what anyone says.
"I became the first Australian woman to win Wimbledon because I trained hard and worked towards it."
Right? OK? And that has any relevance with this topic? I shall take this opportunity to make it so. You worked towards your goals, you chose a path and succeeded. Which is why everyone should be able to do so, not get told they can't because of age, race, sexuality. Kinda backfired, didn't it? ;-)

Gay teen suicide.
Over the past couple of weeks, all I've seen on the internet is articles about gay teens committing suicide because of bullying. Now, I know I can't stop this as an individual, and I know that there are some groups out there who are actually helping teens.
But after reading this http://ronkemp.blogspot.com/2012/01/another-gay-teen-lost-to-bullycide-rest.html , I saw this bit "You may recall that Tennessee lawmakers are trying to pass a bill that will allow bullying as long as it is for religious, philosophical, or political beliefs." What. The. Fuck? What the hell is wrong with America! Don't they understand, or get the fact that bullying IS NOT MEANT TO HAPPEN TO ANYONE. What sort of person try's to pass a bill which would let that happen!!
Being bullied, harassed, beaten up shouldn't happen to anyone, what is the point? OK, you don't like the way someone is, fine, then keep it to yourself. Don't you understand that words can kill if they are used in a way which can make someone feel isolated and unable to defend themselves..ever been in the shoes of someone who has been bullied to the extend of suicide?? no? Maybe you should look it up on the internet, because its not just the victim you've killed, its the family around them as well.
I hope that 1 day, the word "bullying" will be something no one understands or even heard off. Because putting a word with an action which shouldn't happen, is just as bad as that action.

As crazy as a Sunday can get...for me...
I guess today (22/01/12 - :P) started of at 00:00, didn't get to sleep until half 4am. I suffer from insomnia, which doesn't help my sleeping pattern, at the moment its completely wrecked , its needs to be fixed, quickly. anyway, once I got to sleep, I got about 2 hours sleep before I got woke up by my alarm, was planning on getting a beautiful photo of the sun rising, but my body had other plans. got up, went downstairs, laid on the sofa and fell back to sleep for hours..oopsy, which meant I missed the sunrise!!!
After waking up at 12noon, I had a shower, all the usual stuff when I get up, then planned my trip to get a photo of the sunset, whilst I wait for the sun to set, I decided to fiddle around with my laptop...as you do, unfortunately, no good came from that, and wasted about hours doing so...
I packed all my things together, Camera, bag, tripod, steel toe cap shoes..., for walking through the mud. decided the best shot in Hailsham would be a field down from the Cuckoo trail, unfortunately I wasn't 100% sure whether the field I was going to was privately owned, seeing as the gate had a chain around it, and some barbed wire, I decided to search for another spot, after walking about a mile, everywhere was all weeded over, so walked back to the field, and quickly climbed over the gate and found a nice spot out of view to get a shot, thankfully I didn't get caught or told off, or even arrested.

Hello, if you haven't read my profile, then I'll make it easy and write it here! My name is Michael Eckersley, I'm 19, from England and I'm gay, yes, I'm gay. problem? then leave. Thanks.
I've never done a Blog before, so sorry if what I write seems a bit bare!
I'm a gay rights activist, I also give help and advice to gay/bi/trans-genders. As far as I am aware, gay teenage suicides in this country AND all over the world is around 85%. I just want to take this opportunity to say to any gay people reading this...do not care what other people think, its your life, its your body and its your dreams, so you live it how you want, not how them massive haters and bigots want you too.
Anyway, as well as writing about my thoughts on how homosexuality/bi-sexuality/tran-sexuality etc is normal.
I also want to write about my photography, my journeys on how I'm improving my photography and how other people seem to take a photo on auto and then use photoshop to perfect it. I've always wondered where the challenge of photography has gone, and now I know.
I'm also a Train enthusiast *cough* and bus enthusiast *cough cough*. as well as liking the real things, I also like to play simulations in my spare time (which I have a lot off, if I'm not in college).
So I'm going to bring you all alot of variety. But don't worry, I waffle on (too much ;))
